Attitude Hacks

If you want to be likeable, be comfortable in your own skin.
Its hard to get someone to like you if you are uncomfortable with yourself, and
the best way to achieve this is to know who you are.

Take an interest in other people - be more approachable.
Bonding with others and being at peace with oneself have a common thread:
both need you to understand who you are and to accept yourself (warts and all).

The more you withdraw into a shell the heavier you make of life’s burdens.
The simple pleasures of interacting joyfully or intellectually with a few like-minded souls
outweigh any excuse for distancing yourself from the real world. Man is a social animal – starve yourself of that, and you slowly choke.

(John Miller 2005) QBQ - The Question Behind the Question

A book worthy of gifting to all employees.

If you fall in the trap of feeling helpless and blaming circumstances for things gone wrong.
Stop the ‘victim’ mentality.
When the engines fail, pivot to fly the plane differently.

Ask the right question and take personal accountability: ‘What can I do today to solve the problem?’

In sports, as in life, we often end up in situations where things seemingly out of our control prevent us from achieving our goals.
Like a match referee who makes a couple of questionable calls against you.
‘It doesn’t matter how close the match is…
If you want to win, you must be good enough to beat the ref’.

Work to be so good that you succeed in the face of all odds
– be the unquestionable victor, not the victim!

Be a leader, a person with integrity, and an agent of change. Above all, start with yourself.

Prioritize what’s important

If you been feeling the blues living in pointless pursuit,
constantly chasing errands, lost in the woods of urgent tasks, that all seem important,

then search for your spark of inspiration,
burn up the deadwood of confusion,
light the fire you need, to guide your decisions.

Prioritize: ask yoursel if you commit to something,
what impact does it have in your life.
How would you feel once you’ve completed it.

Spending quality time with loved ones - priceless.
Spending, profligacy - a thrill that fades fast.
Safeguarding your dear ones future - critical.
Being a slave to work / chasing money at the expense of time for what matters most - worthless.
Ensuring you stay employable and healthy - critical.
Growing in graceful self-acceptance (the foundation of self-esteem) - invaluable.
